Susan Talton joined Laird Norton Tyee in 2008 and serves as a client advisor. With more than 25 years of wealth management experience, Susan truly enjoys nurturing close relationships with her clients to help them through significant life transitions. As a Certified Financial Planner®, she firmly believes that financial planning is the key to achieving personal goals. Although Susan addresses a range of financial issues, she often helps her clients successfully transition their lives through separation, divorce, and the death of a spouse. Another special interest of Susan’s is retirement planning. She was instrumental in forming Laird Norton Tyee’s Elder Planning Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Susan worked as a Financial Consultant with Smith Barney. While there, she advised clients on a variety of financial issues that includes women in transition, retirement, elder planning and philanthropic initiatives. Recognized as a financial expert, Susan has been featured in SmartMoney, had a recurring column in Today’s Charlotte Woman, and frequently writes for Laird Norton Tyee’s ReGenU blog.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. For many years, she was a dedicated advocate of adult literacy and helped many individuals learn how to read and write.
