Doug Rogers, CFA, joined Laird Norton Tyee in 2007 as chief investment officer, responsible for the firm's strategic allocation, tactical positioning, and manager selection processes.

Doug is a recognized industry thought leader, author and speaker on taxable account management and after tax performance reporting. He is a recipient of the prestigious Peter Dietz Award from the Journal of Performance Measurement for furthering the body of knowledge related to investment performance measurement. He is the author of "Tax-Aware Investment Management: The Essential Guide," published by Bloomberg Press in 2006, as well as numerous articles in financial and investment publications.

Prior to joining LNTyee, Doug was the chief investment officer at two national investment advisory firms. His long career includes posts as senior consultant and director of traditional manager research for a wealth management firm as well as 10 years of portfolio management, marketing, and client servicing experience for investment companies.

After graduating from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Doug served as a U.S. Army Officer in various engineering leadership positions. While on active duty, he was awarded an Army scholarship to complete his master's in business administration in finance from Southern Methodist University.

Doug is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has served as the chairperson of the AIMR (now referred to as the CFA Institute) Subcommittee for After-Tax Reporting. He is currently assisting the Investment Management Consultants Association to develop a curriculum for a private wealth designation program, and he has taught graduate level security analysis and portfolio management classes.
