Rich Simmonds was a co-founder of Tyee Asset Strategies in 1995, serving as the company’s chairman until it merged with Laird Norton Trust Company in 2004. Since then he has been a managing principal of Laird Norton Tyee, bringing more than 25 years of wealth and investment management experience to the firm.
Mr. Simmonds provides a high level of client consciousness to the firm and is an advocate for wealth management in the community. He is spearheading the company’s efforts to develop resources and workshops for family businesses in the Pacific Northwest.
Before co-founding Tyee Asset Strategies, Mr. Simmonds was executive vice president of the asset management division of U.S. Bank. Prior to that, he was president of Sheppart, Simmonds and VanHousen, an asset management company.
Mr. Simmonds earned a marketing and finance degree from Central Washington University. He is an advisory board member of Schwab Institutional and serves on the boards of the University of Washington’s Autism Center, Junior Achievement and Billings Middle School. As an active member of the Rotary Club of Seattle, he participates in the organization’s youth and schools programs. |
